"Sugar, spice, and everything nice."

Yay for random personal art!
Well, not random really, I've been practicing with watercolours, and this is the result XD
I've posted this artwork on my Patreon as well, along with a number of related pictures. I was recently testing some new watercolour techniques I learned. I had three different painting methods I wanted to test, so I needed three things to colour. I've had these three characters sketched out for a while and I said hey, let's colour these three.

This painting was done on a pencil lineart, but with no actual borders, so forgive the wonkiness of my lines XD I still can't prevent my hand from shaking while I hold a brush. Buut anyway, as I said, I attempted three techniques here:

-the black and tan guy in front was painted using almost exclusively wet-on-wet technique

-the dilute calico gal in the middle was mainly wet-on-dry, but with many layers

-the cream piebald mister in the back was a mix of both, and with a layer of glazing on top.

I think I like cream piebald mister the most. What do you guys think? :D

Also as you can see, I'm testing the genetics of my species, the Azaras. I've been constructing many patterns and colour combinations that made sense biologically, and I think I finalized them! *explodes with happiness*

Either way, I always forget how much fun watercolours are! It's a medium I'm still not very familiar with, but which I find extremely enjoyable, and which I'm craving to learn more about :)
So as always, if you have any techniques you'd like to share/suggest, feel free to do so!

And if you feeling really generous, my Patreon is always open :)

I post artwork like this all the time, most of which is exclusive to Patrons.
Not to mention, you get to see comic pages in advance!

Hello dearest Arven! How are you? <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l…" width="19" height="19" alt=":la:" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="577" title="La la la la"/>

well, I decided to write a critique once again, I hope you like it! So, let´s start.

First of all, you´re a master in traditional art, no discussion needed ^^ That´s quite clear. So my critique will be on a pretty high level.

I adore the movements you illustrated. The characters seem to be real and actually "attacking", they´re full of emotion. That´s why I put the originality high.
What I´d like to critizise is the fact that´s a little messy. I would have liked some clear demarcation so I know "which leg belongs to who", if you know what I mean <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=";) (Wink)"/> Right in the first moment, I had the impression that the leg you see right below belongs to the front wolf which isn´t true of course. The colors of the wolves are pretty similar, so it´s a bit confusing.
because of that, I put the Impact not that high, and vision lost 1 1/2 stars, I´m so sorry <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=";) (Wink)"/>

However, the technique is great of course, the shadows and natural lighting is amazing. I also adore the fur effect you put into your picture and that you didn´t use black outlines. <= That´s good xD

I hope you can comprehend my explanations!
i can´t wait to see your next picture!!
