You gave me strength
to stand alone again,
to face the world
out on my own again.
You put me high
upon a pedestal,
so high that I could almost see eternity.
You needed me
you needed me.
THIS PAGE.
It took a lifetime to make. DEM STARS.
I mean, seriously, so many stars O.O And once again, ghostly figures appear in the sky!
Speaking of ghostly figures,
watch me draw panel 1! HERE!
So, we are further introduced to Giza's background. It was so interesting to hear the speculation you suggested, and I must say, many of you were right thinking that she had trouble with other leopards!
But what no one saw coming, is that Africa is not Giza's first cub.
Nay, Giza has had at least two more litters of cubs before her. And, according to family traditions, they were all named after places in Africa However, because she is physically weak, Giza couldn't give birth to healthy cubs, and she herself did not have enough milk for them.
On her first litter, when she was at the best of her health, Giza had three cubs. As she became weaker, on her second litter, only two cubs were born. Finally, on her last litter, Africa was born an only child, and for this reason, she was a little healthier than her previous siblings, and, being alone, Giza could concentrate all her energies into raising her properly.
It is sad, but it's actually what goes on in real life. There is high mortality among leopard cubs, most of the times, one of two cubs dies very young. In Giza's case, the odds were all against her.
Now do you understand why Giza is so protective over Africa? Because Africa is Giza's last chance to have a brood, and so to continue tradition
